Like previous editions, the latest edition of the Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education serves as a guideline for the assessment and quality assurance of health promotion in higher education. The third edition also acknowledges additions to the body of knowledge and makes explicit the scope of practice and essential functions for the field.
The Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education includes seven standards and are guided by several principles. Click on each standard to read its description and sub-standards and access selected resources, case studies, tools, and downloads to help you develop your professional competencies and strengthen your health promotion program.
We have organized the resources for each standard under three headings: Learn, Observe, and Perform.
Learn: find the most valuable and foundational resources related to the standard. This well-curated list provides the core knowledge regarding the standard.
Observe: discover testimonials, case studies, and models elicited from campuses across the country so that you can see how your peers have applied the standard.
Perform: locate the hands-on tools, templates, checklists, and other useful resources to help you easily and effectively incorporate the standard into your health promotion practice.
Our goal is to make your learning worthwhile and enable you to thrive in your professional role.
